Privacy Policy

This page explains what information The Valerie Players collects through this website, and how we use it. We wrote it in plain language. If anything is unclear, contact us using the details at the bottom.
The short version: we collect what you choose to send us and some basic visit data, we use it to answer you and run our business, and we do not sell your personal information.
Information you give us
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject and message.
- Email list: your email address (and name, if you give it) when you sign up. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
- Purchases and payments: handled by PayPal (donations). They collect your payment details directly; we do not see or store your full card number.
- Bookings and reservations: made through the Valerie Theatre box office (tickets are sold on the theatre's own site), which collects the details needed to hold your booking (such as name, contact details, date and party size).
- Information about minors: Many audition and program questions come from students and parents. We ask that anyone under 18 contact us with a parent or guardian. We publish a student's name or photo (for example, scholarship recipients) only with a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Email and phone: anything you include when you email or call us.
Information collected automatically
Our web host keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to keep the site running and secure. We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Our site does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is not yet a common standard for them.
How we use information
- To answer your questions, quotes and requests
- To provide and schedule the products or services you ask for
- To send messages you asked for, such as updates or our email list
- To understand how the site is used and make it better
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam or fraud
- To meet legal obligations
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:
- With service providers that help us run the site and business, such as Netlify (website hosting and form delivery), EmailOctopus (our email newsletter), PayPal (donations). They may use it only to provide their service to us.
- When the law requires it, or to protect our rights, our customers or the public
- If our business is sold or reorganized, with the new owner, who must honor this policy
Your choices
- You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us. We will respond within 30 days.
- Unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them online. Where we need information about a minor (for example, for a youth program), we ask a parent or guardian to provide it. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
How we protect and keep information
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). We limit who can see what you send us and keep it only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as the law requires. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach ever affects your information, we will notify you as Florida law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
